Q) HWIN Fees / What is the fee payment structure?
|
A) The charges in HWIN are ministry regulatory program cost recovery fees. This is separate from waste management service provider charges to transport and dispose of your waste.
HWIN Regulatory Fees include:
- Registration Number Base Fee - $50.00
- Manifest fee - $5 per manifest
- Tonnage fee - $30 per tonne for hazardous non-recycled waste only. The tonnage component also applies to onsite management.
HWIN exempts tonnage fees for recycled waste as long as it goes to an approved recycler with the Ministry. Also, HWIN exempts tonnage for liquid industrial waste (i.e. 251L, 252L..etc).
