Q) What is an electronic manifest? How is it different from a paper manifest?

A) An electronic manifest is a web-based transaction that satisfies the regulatory and business requirements associated with the manifest requirements of Regulation 347. It is different from the paper manifest in that all aspects of manifest creation and processing can be conducted on-line, and no paper is created. Nor are paper records necessary since all transaction data is captured electronically and is available on-line on a 24/7 basis.
