Welcome to the Hazardous Waste Information network (HWIN),
the first large-scale electronic manifest system in North America. HWIN allows hazardous waste generators, carriers, and receivers to register their activities with the Ontario Ministry of the Environment online. It also enables users to create and process electronic manifests over the web.

HWIN is an important part of the Ministry's commitment to strengthen Ontario's hazardous waste management framework. It will enhance the quality and accessibility of hazardous waste information in Ontario. HWIN also offers significant benefits to industrial users in the form of reduced costs for manifest transactions, record-keeping and reporting. Click here to go back to the Menu

HWIN complies with WAI AA accessiblity standards.

The HWIN Help Desk is available from 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday. The toll-free number is 1-866-494-6663.

The deadline to update all active waste classes that require Land Disposal Restriction (LDR) updates to waste stream information has passed. If you have not already done so please access your waste information and update all waste streams with characterizations of A, B, C, H, I, R, S or T.
